GFRP suspension springs

Chassis Composites Springs

Carbon fiber composites reduce weight and are resistant to corrosion. Our chassis composite springs draw on Mubea’s experience in the following areas:

  • Chassis
  • Materials
  • Production technologies

Mubea GFRP longitudinal leaf springs : Significant weight reduction

-50 %
Blattzugfeder blau

GFRP (glass fiber reinforced plastic) longitudinal leaf springs are up to 50 percent lighter than steel leaf springs.

Mubea GFRP tension leaf springs : Operational and material innovations

Blattzugfeder blau_dynamisch

Advantages of Mubea GFRP tension leaf springs

  • Progressive spring characteristics
  • Improved ride comfort
  • Weight reductions of up to 50 kg per vehicle
  • Adjustable kinematic properties (e.g., trajectory)
  • Optimization of costs and systems thanks to length compensation in the spring
  • Secure failure mechanism
  • Protection against metallic corrosion
  • Integration into available mounting space

Absolute reliability in difficult conditions : Our springs in action

Mubea GFRP transverse leaf springs : New axle designs

GFK-Querblattfeder

Lightweight and compact

The transverse leaf spring replaces the helical compression springs and the stabilizer bar as used in conventional axle designs. With our transverse leaf spring solutions, we are able to reduce weight and optimize the use of mounting space.

Our transverse leaf spring designs offer a wide range of benefits:

  • Vertical spring action and roll stabilization
  • Vertical spring action and wheel guidance
  • Optimization of comfort thanks to progressive spring action

Mubea CFRP stabilizer bars : Stabilizer bar solution

-50 %
Gewichtsreduzierung durch innovative Stabilisatorlösung

Using the high performance material CFRP instead of steel allows us to reduce weight by 50 percent.

Carbon fiber composite stabilizer bars from Mubea are manufactured in large series runs by means of a highly automated production process. The stabilizer bar can be designed so that the component features variable diameters and cross sections.
